Columbus Park Privacy Notice

Effective October 9, 2026.

Columbus Park uses information you provide to respond to questions and help plan visits. An inquiry does not confirm a reservation. Please do not include payment details or other sensitive information in your message.

Inquiries and email

The contact form collects your name, email address, message and inquiry type, plus any optional dates, guest count or campsite/kitchen preferences you provide. It sends these details through Titan email to [email protected] and [email protected]. Your email address is included so the park can reply.

The custom form plugin does not itself save inquiry message bodies in the website database or files. Delivered messages are stored in the receiving email services, including Titan and Gmail. This does not mean that information exists only in email: hosting systems, backups and previous form services may also hold information as described below.

Form protection and appearance preferences

The custom form uses a security cookie lasting up to one hour and a submission token valid for fifteen minutes. To limit repeat submissions and abuse, it stores coded security markers derived from the token, cookie and connection IP address, rather than saving the raw IP address in those markers. These are not inquiry message bodies. The rate-limit markers expire after sixty seconds and replay markers after fifteen minutes; expired records are removed during a later eligible submission, so they can remain in storage longer when the form is idle. Backups may retain copies.

Choosing Light or Dark saves an appearance preference in your browser until you remove it or choose System. System removes the saved preference.

Website analytics

This website uses Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are read. Google Analytics sets cookies beginning with _ga that last up to two years and sends page and device information to Google; it does not record your IP address, and the settings that would link your visit to other Google services or advertising are turned off. The park and its website manager use these reports only to improve the website. You can stop the cookies by blocking them in your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, and the site works the same without them. Signed-in site editors are not counted.

Hosting, backups and earlier inquiries

The website and email providers process technical information to operate and protect their services. Hosting or service logs and backups may contain personal information. Their specific contents and retention periods have not been confirmed for this notice.

The park’s previous contact and event forms used the WPForms service with remote entry backups. Those forms have been removed from the website. Historical entries held by that service were not automatically deleted; the retained entries, their retention period and the deletion process have not been confirmed. Those records are separate from messages in the park’s email inboxes.

Retention and privacy questions

A defined retention and deletion policy for inquiry correspondence and historical form entries has not been confirmed. This notice does not set a new retention period or promise automatic deletion. Retention and deletion details for service logs and backups are also unconfirmed.

For privacy questions, or to request information about access, correction or deletion, contact [email protected] or [email protected]. Do not send sensitive identity documents with an initial request. The available handling of a request depends on the records and services involved; this notice does not promise a response deadline or deletion from every system or backup.
